    The Senior Staff Assistant - Finance & Administration, will assist the Assistant Dean/Director of Finance and Administration in the fiscal and administrative functions for the School of Business.

    This position will provide support in the areas of budget management, account analysis, and personnel management involving State, IFR, Albany Foundation, and Research Foundation funding.

    The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and administrative staff, covering a number of fiscal and administrative areas including travel reconciliation, departmental budgets, requisitions, and reimbursements.

    The Senior Staff Assistant will also handle personnel actions for new faculty and staff hires and process renewals for current faculty and staff. Additional personnel duties will include hiring processes for graduate student assistant-ships and work-study students.

    In addition, this position will work with a number of University departments such Budget Management, Human Resources, Accounting, Research Foundation, Albany Foundation and Office of Student Accounts to carry out daily functions; working with faculty, staff, students and alumni within the Business School to carry out the School's new strategic agenda as implemented by the Dean's Leadership Team. Additional responsibilities will include training clerical staff as needed in the use of budgetary tools and maintenance of the School's fiscal data systems.


    Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and at least five years (at least three years in the case of a Master's degree) of progressively responsible work experience in fiscal and personnel management; degree(s) from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or internationally recognized accrediting organization
    Strong project management skills
    Ability to manage time
    Effective written and oral communication skills
    Exceptional professionalism and discretion with an ability to work with confidential information
    Demonstrated expertise with computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Power Point
    Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Previous experience in higher education
    Familiarity with State of New York and SUNY policies and procedures
    Experience using Business Intelligence - All Funds Analytics
